As you might know, two major forest fires are raging just a few miles from Fort Collins.  The latest I heard was 20,000 acres, with no chance of rain or significant containment today.

There’s a good chance that you’re lucky and safe, not worrying about losing your house.  If that’s the case, be grateful.  But there’s a lot of things you can do to help people who are frantic:

  1. Donate to the Red Cross
  2. Ask your employees if they’re affected, or anyone in their family
  3. Give them more flexibility with time off and helping those who are affected
  4. Contribute some of your company’s products or services
  5. Open your home or business to someone who has instantly become homeless
  6. Help people to stay in touch
  7. Be patient with those who are frazzled and haven’t slept for days

It’s times like this that our character is tested.  Are we here to help each other out, or just in it for the money?
