Here’s the nice thing about vacations: They’re different than what you normally do. Even if you’re doing something that might feel like work to someone else, it can still be rejuvenating.
I was talking with a friend yesterday who rediscovered the joy of just taking a little time to pluck the stems from his tomatoes. It was just a tiny little respite from his hectic work schedule.
Yes, getting back into work again can take a little adjustment. But you know what? If it didn’t take readjustment, then it wouldn’t have really been a vacation, would it?
Please don’t make your employees work while they’re on vacation. They won’t come back re-energized, which is the whole point.
